Braves GM Alex Anthopoulos has sound a strong warning message to Braves team ahead of New season

General manager Alex Anthopoulos of the Atlanta Braves is gearing up for the 2024 MLB season, facing high expectations following the team’s

postseason exit against the Philadelphia Phillies last year. Despite Ronald Acuña Jr.’s recent injury scare, Anthopoulos expresses gratitude for having the

reigning NL MVP back in the lineup. However, he publicly advocates for Acuña to approach stolen bases with a bit more caution in the upcoming season.

Anthopoulos recently elaborated on his desire to see Acuña exercise restraint when attempting stolen bases in 2024.

“I mean, look, it’s awesome, right? 40 homers, 70 stolen bases. In my job, you worry with stolen bases. You get a finger,

you get a hand, and wrist, but that’s the way he plays, that’s who he is,” stated Anthopoulos, as reported by Foul Territory on YouTube. “This guy loves

baseball, and forget that he’s MVP and so on, he adores baseball. You’ll see stuff on the internet and online; in the Winter,

he’s playing, whether it’s in leagues or in parks, he loves the game. That’s how he plays, that’s the energy he plays with, and that’s part of the game.”

Certainly, Ronald Acuña Jr.’s remarkable skill in stealing bases contributes

significantly to his greatness, but the frequency of these plays raises concerns about potential risks, particularly over

the course of a season. The Braves are set to commence their 2024 campaign in a few weeks, facing the Phillies in Philadelphia.
