Done deal: Philadelphia Phillies has signed an incredible player as he get brutally honest about his contract with the Phillies

Phillies ace Zack Wheeler gets brutally honest on 2024 season after contract extension

Zack Wheeler is ready for the 2024 season.

Following the team’s second consecutive deep postseason run in 2023, starting pitcher Zach Wheeler and the Philadelphia Phillies are currently preparing for an exciting 2024 MLB season. Wheeler and the Phillies signed a massive three-year, $126 million deal agreement last week. The extension will keep Wheeler with the team until the end of the 2026 season, when he will turn 36.

Recently, Wheeler broke down his approach as the 2024 campaign draws near.

Wheeler stated, “I’m [focused] on the season and trying to bring a championship back to Philly,” according to MLB Network on X, the website that was originally known as Twitter. It’s one thing to get there, but quite another to win. Everybody’s feet got a little bit wet. Hopefully we can return there and secure the victory at last.

In fact, the Phillies defeated the Atlanta Braves and the San Diego Padres in the NL side of the bracket to progress all the way to the World Series in 2022, but the Houston Astros ultimately forced them to return home. Last season, Wheeler once again proved his mettle in the postseason by sending the Braves packing; but, this time, the Arizona Diamondbacks emerged victorious in the National League Championship Series against the Phillies.

Either way, in a rematch of the previous two postseasons, Wheeler and the Phillies will take the diamond for their first regular season game against the Braves in a matter of weeks.
