Jets have done a magnificent double signings

The agreement, reached before the NFL’s legal tampering window opened for free agency, entails a contract valued at $8.4

million, with $4.2 million guaranteed, as per one individual who spoke to the AP anonymously due to the Jets not officially announcing the transaction.

In addition to this deal, the Jets confirmed the signing of Isaiah Oliver, a

former cornerback for the 49ers and Falcons, who was released by San Francisco last month.

Following years of instability in the kicker position, the Jets have found reliability in 36-year-old Zuerlein during his two seasons with the team. Last

season, he achieved a success rate of 35 out of 38 field goal attempts, including 5 out of 6 from distances of 50 yards or more.

Zuerlein holds the franchise record for the Jets with 26 consecutive made field goals and shared the league lead with four tying or game-winning kicks. Before

his tenure with the Jets, he spent eight seasons with the Rams and two with the Cowboys. Throughout his career, Zuerlein has maintained an 83.1% conversion rate on field goal attempts.

His return contributes to stabilizing the Jets’ special teams unit, which was among the league’s top performers last season. Punter Thomas Morstead, who

had an outstanding season, is set to become an unrestricted free agent but may also opt to return to the team.
