Vikings starter takes angry shot at team for disrespect.

Offensive guard Dalton Risner expressed frustration towards the Minnesota Vikings for not offering him a new contract, taking to social media on

Tuesday, March 12 to voice his concerns about feeling undervalued by the team and the NFL in general throughout his five-year NFL career.

“Just in case anyone was wondering … I’ve started 73 games over 5 years in the league … missing only 4 games due to

injury … earning the starting spot amongst 3 different coaching staffs,” Risner wrote. “I’ve never asked for a bag, simply just a starting guard contract.”

Having spent his first four seasons with the Denver Broncos, Risner entered free agency last year but didn’t secure the desired deal, leading to a one-year

contract with the Vikings valued at $3 million in 2023. He appeared in 15 games for Minnesota last season, starting 11 of them.

As Dalton Risner’s future with the Minnesota Vikings remains uncertain,

significant player movements have already occurred within the team during the initial stages of free agency.

The departure of quarterback Kirk Cousins to join the Atlanta Falcons stands out as the major development, with the

Vikings bringing in former No. 3 overall pick Sam Darnold on a one-year deal to fill the void.

Additionally, star edge rusher Danielle Hunter has departed, signing a two-year

contract with the Houston Texans. Meanwhile, the Vikings defense has bolstered its pass rush with the

acquisitions of Jonathan Greenard and Andrew Van Ginkel, along with linebacker Blake Cashman, who hails from Minnesota.

In a notable move, the Green Bay Packers released running back Aaron Jones on Monday, leading the Vikings to swiftly secure him as the replacement for the recently departed Alexander Mattison.
