Unbelievable:Phillies Outfielder delivers a hot odd quote about Baseball, Milk & wine

Phillies slugger delivers a hot odd quote about Baseball, Milk & wine

Nick Castellanos, the outfielder for the Philadelphia Phillies, is known for his

penchant for delivering quirky quotes, and he didn’t disappoint in a recent interview with The Athletic.

During his conversation with The Athletic’s Matt Gelb, Castellanos shared an intriguing analogy, likening baseball players to milk and wine as he reflected

on his evolution and role within the Phillies’ lineup. Here’s how he elaborated on the comparison, as reported by Gelb:

“Milk is only good when it’s fresh,” remarked Castellanos. “But as it sits out, it spoils. On the other hand, there are players who are like wine. What happens with wine?”

“It ages well,” responded Gelb.

“Exactly,” affirmed Castellanos. “Those are the only two categories. You’re either milk or wine. There’s no in-between.”

Castellanos is accustomed to his quotes gaining traction on social media – during last summer’s MLB All-Star Game, he

notably declared Scooby-Doo as his favorite superhero. Additionally, his poorly-timed home runs and interactions with his 10-year-old son on the field have become viral sensations.

The 32-year-old power hitter spent seven seasons with the Detroit Tigers before being traded to the Chicago Cubs. Following a two-year tenure with the Cincinnati Reds, where he earned his

first All-Star selection in 2021, Castellanos secured a lucrative five-year, $100 million contract with the Phillies.

While Castellanos faced challenges in his inaugural season with the Phillies, he experienced a resurgence in 2023. As the 2024 season approaches, FanGraphs’ ZiPS

projections indicate that he is on track to finish the year with a .258 batting average, 23 home runs, 85 RBI, a .751 OPS, and a 0.5 WAR.

As Castellanos progresses through the remainder of his contract, the question remains: Will he age like milk or wine?
