Sauce Gardner intensifies his criticism of a former Jets teammate following the Super Bowl win.

Sauce Gardner has once again voiced his criticism of former New York Jets

teammate Mecole Hardman Jr. during this offseason, disputing remarks made by the three-time Super Bowl champion.

Hardman, aged 26, expressed his discontent with the Jets in late February, reflecting on his brief seven-month

tenure with the team last year. During this period, he participated in five games without making any starts before being

traded back to the Kansas City Chiefs midseason. In his critique, Hardman pointed to issues with the team’s coaching staff and overall culture.

When Hardman’s comments became public, Gardner responded by suggesting that Hardman had disclosed the Jets’

offensive game plan for a match against the Philadelphia Eagles, an accusation that Hardman has refuted.

On the same podcast, The Pivot, where the initial allegations were made, the Jets cornerback has persisted in his criticism of Hardman. “When I first met Mecole …

the immediate impression I got is that he’s quite talkative,” Gardner stated, questioning Hardman’s winning mentality.

“If you genuinely understand what it means to win, you’ll ensure that the team is aware of it. … The reason he failed to do so is because he never proved

himself. He arrived at the facility assuming everything was handed to him,” Gardner remarked.

Following his departure from Kansas City as a free agent, where he had won his second Super Bowl, Hardman signed

a one-year, $4 million contract with the Jets. Gardner further added, “If you truly comprehend what it takes to succeed,

you won’t attend practice and consistently drop punts, only to offer excuses afterward.”

You wouldn’t find yourself being reprimanded by the special teams coordinator during a special teams

meeting. “There are simply certain scenarios that wouldn’t occur if you genuinely understand what it means to win.”

Responding to criticism of the organization, Gardner emphasized: “You

can’t really undermine the Jets, particularly from his standpoint. They facilitated your return to a competitive

team. They sent you back to the Chiefs, where you went on to win the Super Bowl. I perceive that as being unappreciative.”
