Breaking news:this is what Steelers star QB has said about his Possible Trades as Four Teams seriously wants him
|NFL Rumors: Justin Fields Shot Down Possible Trades To Four Teams
The Steelers reportedly weren’t the only team looking into trading for Fields
On Saturday, the Chicago Bears made their long-awaited trade of quarterback Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Steelers obtained the prize they desired, although it is said that other
teams were also interested in signing Fields. The Steelers merely forfeited a
conditional 2025 sixth-round pick in the transaction.
However, it appears that Fields only wanted to play for Pittsburgh, and the Bears made sure that didn’t happen.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media said on Sunday, “An important note regarding
the Justin Fields trade: Fields’ representation requested that he not be
traded there. At least four additional teams inquired about trading for Fields.”
“The Bears did the right thing by him; he wanted the Steelers.”
The four other teams that expressed interest in acquiring Fields—whom Chicago selected with the 11th overall
pick in the 2021 NFL draft—were not disclosed by Rapoport.
The clubs that came after Fields presumably needed quarterbacks. It’s unclear if the New England Patriots
actually made an offer for Fields, but they definitely belong in that category.
The Patriots are anticipated to select a quarterback with the third overall choice
in next month’s NFL draft, most likely Drake Maye or Jayden Daniels. They have
already signed veteran signal-caller Jacoby Brissett this summer. Therefore,
it’s possible that Fields was never even
considered for New England’s plans
Fields knows he will support Russell Wilson going into the Steelers game.
Wilson is only signed for one season, so if Wilson struggles, Fields might have to
contend for the starting position the next year. With Wilson and Fields, the
Steelers may not select a top-tier quarterback this year, which would
make Fields’ landing location even better because there would be less competition.
Fields’ desire to travel to Pittsburgh over any other location may have been greatly
influenced by the possibility of playing for the Steelers.
