Latest news:Unai Emery gives bad six-word injury update on Aston Villa star

Unai Emery gives unusual six-word injury update on Aston Villa star Jacob Ramsey

After Sunday’s draw against West Ham, Unai Emery addressed the Englishman’s

injury status, giving Aston Villa an odd update on Jacob Ramsey’s fitness.

On Sunday afternoon, Unai Emery’s Aston Villa team was put to the test when

they played West Ham to a 1-1 tie despite having a severely diminished roster.

Because John McGinn was serving the first of a three-match suspension, the Villans were without their captain, which made it difficult to establish play in midfield.

Nevertheless, the Midlands team earned a point for their efforts as they left the

city, barely increasing their advantage in the race for the top four after Tottenham’s loss to Fulham.

After the game, Emery gave a speech on a variety of subjects, the most troubling

of which was perhaps Jacob Ramsey’s situation.

Unai Emery provided a strange update on the fitness of Jacob Ramsey

Ramsey missed the previous four games due to injury, so he was not present against West Ham.

Although it was believed that the Englishman may soon be included in the team, he was taken out of the game in the first half of Villa’s close victory over Luton Town and hasn’t been seen since.

In an interview last week, Emery expressed optimism on Ramsey’s position in the lead-up to last Thursday’s match against Ajax.

“Hopefully not for much longer, but he’s still not available. Every day, we’ll wait to find out how he’s feeling.

Although the 22-year-old’s remarks from last week gave rise to optimism, Emery gave a significantly less upbeat update yesterday.

In an interview with BirminghamWorld, the management said only this:

“I’m not sure, I’m not sure.”

Jacob Ramsey has struggled this season

After the highs that Ramsey hit last term, becoming an integral member of Emery’s squad and contributing to 13 goals in the Premier League, this season has been a bit of a stop-start nightmare for the academy graduate.

Last campaign, the Englishman recorded 31 starts from a total of 35 appearances in the league for his boyhood club, with his numbers contrasting in the 2023/24 calendar where he has just eight starts from 16 appearances.

The Bodymoor Heath product suffered a setback before the season started after breaking his foot whilst on international duty in the summer, delaying when his domestic duties could begin.

It’s worrying that Emery was unable to speak more openly about the actual status of the £70k-a-week jewel, who looks to be in a position far from being match-fit if the manager’s brief update is anything to go by
