By signing a two-year contract with the New York Giants this offseason, NFL

veteran Jermaine Eluemunor finally fulfilled a dream he has held since his teenage years.

The Giants and Miami Dolphins played in the first-ever International Series

regular-season game at Wembley Stadium on October 28, 2007, which is

when Eluemunor, an offensive tackle from London who is preparing for his

seventh NFL season, fell in love with American football.

At seventeen, he was enthralled with the sport and the blue, white, and red team. Sixteen and a half years later, that

enthralled young man has inked a $14 million, two-year contract with a

guaranteed $6.75 million, with that same franchise.

According to Eluemunor, “that helmet and that uniform just sticks out to me,”

as reported by the New York Post. It is well-known everywhere. Coming to this franchise was always a dream of mine.

His excitement was explained by saying, “It’s the freakin’ New York Giants.”

Eluemunor, who immigrated to the US with his father when he was 14 years

old, played for the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens before having bad

experiences with the Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars.

The former Texas A&M college star was released by both organizations, before he

spent three seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders.

He started all 34 games at right tackle for the Raiders in the past two seasons, but

in New York that positions is currently occupied by Evan Neal.

Nevertheless, Eluemunor has also started games at guard in the past, which could represent another route into the team.

‘That’s one thing that has helped me get to this position right now, is my versatility,’ he continued.

‘We have a really good left tackle. Evan Neal is a really good player, in my

opinion. I think he has a lot of potential. I’m really excited to play with [guard

Jon] Runyan and [center John Michael Schmitz]. I’ll play where I’m needed.’

Eluemunor moved to Denville, New Jersey, when he was 14 years old and started playing football and wrestling. He later packed up and went to Lackawanna College in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where he first established himself before signing with Texas A&M.

After an extraordinary and remarkable path to the major leagues, the Ravens eventually selected him with a fifth-round choice in the 2017 NFL Draft. Now, the London native is prepared to battle for his spot in New York once more.

Eluemunor stated, “You can watch me on film and see how I do under pressure.” “I’ve faced a lot of pressure throughout my career, particularly after moving from my previous position to this one where I feel like I’m finally finding my footing.”
