Done deal:Celebration in Vikings camp as they sign former Rams defensive lineman

former Rams defensive lineman, has been signed by the Vikings.

The Vikings inked former Rams defensive lineman Jonah Williams to a one-year contract on Monday, following

a daylong visit at the TCO Performance Center in Eagan, according to a source within the league.

At 28 years old, Williams started a career-high 16 games last season for Los Angeles, where he tallied 49 tackles

(including four for losses), two sacks, and a pass deflection. Standing at 6 feet 5 inches and weighing 275 pounds, Williams predominantly played as a 3-4

defensive end, an interior position where the Vikings currently have Harrison Phillips, Jonathan Bullard, Jerry Tillery, and Jaquelin Roy under contract.

Notably, Williams has connections to the Vikings’ coaching staff, having played under multiple offensive coaches now with the team during his time with the

Rams. Furthermore, he worked under the new Vikings defensive line coach Marcus Dixon, who served as the Rams’ assistant D-line coach in 2021.

Williams previously had a brief stint with the Vikings in November 2021, when the team claimed him off waivers

from the Rams. However, Minnesota waived Williams the following day due to a failed physical, prompting his return to Los Angeles.
