Recent Free agent reveals terrible reason why he signed for New York jets

The New York Jets are aiming for the anticipation surrounding their 2024 team to yield more favorable outcomes

compared to the excitement surrounding their 2023 roster. Following the acquisition of four-time NFL MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers from the

Green Bay Packers, numerous national media figures began discussing Super Bowl prospects for the team. To enhance the roster, the Jets also recruited several

of Rodgers’ preferred teammates from Green Bay, including wide receivers Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb.

Unfortunately, the 2023 season didn’t unfold as expected for both the Jets and the Packers. Aaron Rodgers suffered an

Achilles injury early in Week One, which meant that Green Bay wouldn’t receive New York’s 2024 first-round pick (though

they still obtained their second-round pick for that year). This injury also thrust Zach Wilson and Tim Boyle into the spotlight as starting quarterbacks.

One of the primary reasons behind the Jets’ disappointing 2023 season was their

focus on appeasing their newly acquired future Hall of Fame quarterback instead

of prioritizing building the strongest roster. As a result, Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb had subpar seasons, Boyle was released, and offensive tackle Billy

Turner struggled to secure a spot in what turned out to be one of the NFL’s weakest offensive lines.

During this offseason, the Jets have placed a significant emphasis on strengthening their offensive line. They

recently inked a one-year contract with Tyron Smith, an eight-time Pro Bowl left tackle, to safeguard Rodgers’ blindside.

Moreover, the team appears to be transitioning away from some of Rodgers’ acquaintances. Allen Lazard has

been listed as available for trade, and there have been no discussions regarding Randall Cobb’s return in 2024.

However, they have taken steps to acquire another top-tier wide receiver for Rodgers to target.
