EX-PREMEIR League CEO says Nottingham Forest will be hit with six- points deduction.

Keith Wyness, former Everton chief, suggested that Nottingham Forest might

face an additional two-point deduction if they fail to appeal their initial penalty. In an interview on the latest episode of

Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old, who previously served as CEO at Goodison Park and now operates a football consultancy for elite

clubs, emphasized that the Premier League would prefer to resolve the cases of Forest and Everton swiftly. Earlier this week (March 18), Nottingham Forest

incurred a four-point deduction, placing them in the Premier League relegation zone with nine games remaining in the season.

Forest acknowledged violating the league’s Profitability and Sustainability Regulations (PSR) by exceeding their permitted loss threshold of £61 million by £34.5 million.

The club from the Midlands faced a prospective six-point deduction – three points for the breach itself and an additional three for the magnitude of the breach. However, they had two points waived due to their cooperation during the process.

Keith Wyness cautioned that Forest might risk losing those points if they choose to contest the decision made by the independent commission. Speaking on Football Insider’s Insider Track

podcast, Wyness stated, “From the Premier League’s perspective, they want to resolve this matter promptly.” He continued, “Forest might be considering

accepting the four-point deduction. However, if they decide to appeal, it could potentially result in a six-point deduction.”

The Premier League, which reinstated two points to Forest as a gesture for their

cooperation, might retract them if Forest decides to contest the decision. “They aim to resolve this swiftly,” emphasized Wyness.
