So sad to say goodbye as Phillies outfielder Jake Cave is leaving.

With Opening Day at Citizens Bank Park just around the corner, the Philadelphia Phillies revealed on Sunday that they are releasing outfielder Jake Cave from the team.

Cave, who came to the Phillies after being acquired off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles prior to the 2023

season, has been traded to the Colorado Rockies in return for cash considerations, as stated by the team.

The Phillies noted that the 31-year-old posted a batting average of .212/.272/.348

in 65 games for Philadelphia last year and had 38 plate appearances during spring training.

The Philadelphia Phillies expressed their gratitude to Jake with a tweet, accompanied by a photo.

Cave was selected in the sixth round of the 2011 MLB draft by the New York Yankees and played for the Minnesota Twins for parts of six seasons, spanning from 2018 to 2022.
