So sad to say goodbye Pass-Game Coordinator  is set to leave.

Once again, as the 2024 season approaches, the Los Angeles Rams have

seen their coaching staff targeted by other teams. Following an unexpected postseason appearance, there’s a desire

across the league to tap into the success associated with being part of Sean McVay’s coaching staff. Raheem Morris secured a head coaching position with

the Atlanta Falcons and brought Zac Robinson along with him. Another sought-after figure was Rams tight ends coach Nick Caley.

Caley previously worked within the New England Patriots organization from 2015 to 2022, initially starting as an offensive

assistant before spending six seasons as the tight ends coach. Subsequently, he transitioned to the Rams organization in 2023, once again serving as the tight ends

coach. However, significant changes occurred in New England, as Bill Belichick and the Patriots parted ways, with Jerod Mayo assuming control.

The Los Angeles Rams faced another instance of their coaching staff being targeted ahead of the 2024 season. Following an unexpected postseason

appearance, other teams sought to capture some of the success associated with being part of Sean McVay’s coaching staff. Raheem Morris secured a head

coaching position with the Atlanta Falcons and brought Zac Robinson along with him. Another coveted figure was Rams tight ends coach Nick Caley.

Caley had previously worked in the New England Patriots organization from 2015 to 2022, starting as an offensive assistant

before spending six seasons as the tight ends coach. He then transitioned to the Rams organization in 2023, continuing his role as the tight ends coach. However,

significant changes occurred in New England, with Bill Belichick and the Patriots parting ways and Jerod Mayo taking over.

The Patriots made a substantial offer to Caley, who ultimately decided to remain with the Rams and received a modest

promotion. According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, Caley was offered the Patriots offensive coordinator position

during a second interview, with Jerod Mayo, his former colleague, extending the offer. Despite the competitive salary offered, Caley opted to stay with the

Rams due to his positive experience in the previous year. Sean McVay expressed his delight upon learning of Caley’s decision to stay.

Caley’s decision to decline the opportunity to return to the team where he spent eight years and receive a

promotion to offensive coordinator underscores the strong culture fostered by McVay and his coaching staff. While

coaches often find success under McVay before seeking higher titles elsewhere, Caley’s choice to remain as the tight ends coach, with the added responsibility of

pass game coordinator, highlights his significance within the Rams organization and his close relationship with McVay and the coaching staff.
