Unbelievable: Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones statement on quarterback Dak Prescott future

Tony Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, believes quarterback Dak Prescott will play in the Super Bowl.

According to Jerry Jones as quoted by David Moore of the Dallas Morning News, there is a belief that several quarterbacks currently playing, who haven’t yet won a Super Bowl, have the

potential to achieve that feat in the future. Jones specifically cites Dak Prescott as one of those quarterbacks he firmly believes in.

Jones’ confidence in Prescott is evident in the significant investment the team has made in him, with Prescott carrying a cap hit of over $55 million for the 2024 season. While Prescott recently

restructured his contract to provide the Cowboys with some financial relief, it’s clear that maintaining faith in Prescott is crucial for the team moving forward.

Given the financial commitment and structure of Prescott’s contract, the Cowboys are essentially locked into him

as their quarterback for the foreseeable future. Their options are limited to either negotiating a long-term deal with

Prescott and managing the financial implications accordingly or exploring the possibility of trading him.

Dak Prescott holds a playoff record of 2-5, with his most recent loss being against the Green Bay Packers in Dallas. The decision regarding Prescott’s contract extension beyond 2025 poses a significant challenge for the Cowboys.

Jerry Jones raises the crucial question of whether Prescott can lead the team to a Super Bowl victory. He suggests that .

among the quarterbacks in the NFL who haven’t won a Super Bowl, Prescott could be among the select few capable of achieving that feat.

Currently, the active starting quarterbacks who have won a Super Bowl include Patrick Mahomes, Aaron

Rodgers, Russell Wilson, and Matthew Stafford. Joe Flacco, although a Super Bowl winner, is not currently a starter.

On the other hand, quarterbacks such as Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts, Brock Purdy, and Lamar Jackson have yet to win a Super Bowl. Many would

argue that these quarterbacks are among those who have the potential to win a Super Bowl. Notably, each of these

quarterbacks has advanced further in the playoffs within their respective conferences compared to Prescott.

Dak Prescott carries a significantly higher cap hit compared to both winning and non-winning quarterbacks. Among quarterbacks, his cap number ranks second highest, with only Deshaun Watson having a higher figure.

While Jerry Jones didn’t specify the exact number of quarterbacks on his list or define the scope of his “handful,” it’s

widely believed that the quarterbacks mentioned earlier have a greater likelihood of winning a Super Bowl compared to Prescott.
