Sad News :Sunderland star player cries out and say “It’s frustrating,”as he is hoping to

Sunderland midfielder Dan Neil has expressed his frustration with the

current season, as the Black Cats face the likelihood of missing out on the playoffs for the second consecutive year.

The season has been marked by turbulence for Sunderland. Despite occasional flirtations with the top six, the

team is currently enduring a seven-match winless streak and faces a daunting challenge away at the Cardiff City Stadium this Friday.

The poor run of form began under the management of Michael Beale. Following

a dismal defeat to Birmingham City, who were then led by Tony Mowbray, Beale was relieved of his duties as head coach.

Dodds took charge on an interim basis for the second time this season, previously leading the team to victories against West Bromwich Albion and

Leeds United at the Stadium of Light in December after Mowbray’s departure. However, his return to the dugout has not yielded the desired results.

In five matches under Dodds, Sunderland have managed just one point out of a possible 15, secured in a goalless draw at home against relegation-

threatened QPR. This outcome has left the team trailing by 13 points from the final play-off position, diminishing hopes of a Premier League promotion.

According to Opta’s latest projections, Sunderland’s chances of reaching the play-offs at the end of the season are

now less than 0.1%. With eight games remaining, Dodds’ squad must secure maximum points to even entertain the possibility.

Despite the bleak outlook, Sunderland star Neil remains optimistic and believes his team can still mount a challenge for the top six if they start strongly after the international break. In an interview with

the Sunderland Echo, Neil expressed frustration with the season’s turn of events but emphasized the team’s continued determination to fight for success:

“It’s frustrating. I think I’ve been in the stands when there have been implosions in the past. I think everything has kind of

been fine and dandy the last few years and everything has kind of been smooth sailing. I think this year was going to be a tough year regardless.

“It just hasn’t gone our way this year and we need to look at ourselves for that. We need to take some accountability. The mentality is still there within the group

and we are going to keep fighting. The last eight games are massive and we will be trying to win them all,” Neil remarked.

“I mentioned the other day that you don’t want to approach the final games of the season with nothing at stake, as it tends

to lead to a sense of complacency because there’s no chance of promotion or relegation. That’s why it’s crucial for

us to start strong after this international break and string together a series of wins, giving us something to aim for in each match.

“There’s nothing more demoralizing than having no objectives to strive for. We should view this international break as

an opportunity to reset and come out with full force to end the season on a high note.”
