Almost done deal:Cowboys to sign two super bowl running backs

The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly exploring two veteran options to address their running back position, with one of them being a familiar face.

According to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys are considering former Pro Bowlers Ezekiel Elliott and Dalvin Cook in free agency.

Elliott, who was the Cowboys’ leading rusher from 2016 to 2021, saw his role diminish in 2022 with Tony Pollard

emerging as the team’s top rusher. After a brief stint with the New England Patriots last season, where he rushed for 642 yards and 3 touchdowns on 184

carries, Elliott is now a free agent following the Patriots’ decision to pursue younger options at running back.

Similarly, Cook parted ways with the Minnesota Vikings before the start of last

season. However, his transition to a new team was more turbulent, as he began the 2023 season with the New York Jets

before requesting a trade later in the year. Cook ended up joining the Baltimore Ravens for the postseason after a short stint with the Jets.

During his time with the Jets, Cook rushed for 214 yards on 67 carries without scoring a touchdown in 15

games. He had a limited role in the postseason, recording 23 rushing yards on 8 attempts in one game for the Ravens.
