Wild jubilation in Knicks as Robinson is back after serious...

New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson made his return to the court on Wednesday night against the Toronto

Raptors, marking his first game action since sustaining a left ankle injury in December that forced him to miss 50 games.

Robinson entered the game with 5:08 remaining in the first quarter, taking over for Isaiah Hartenstein.

The 7-foot center had been sidelined since injuring his ankle during a game against the Boston Celtics on December 8,

which required surgery. Despite his extended absence, Robinson still leads the NBA with an average of 5.3 offensive rebounds per game.

Listed as questionable on the Knicks’ injury report, Robinson was cleared to play by Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau

prior to the game, with Thibodeau indicating that Robinson would see action as long as he felt comfortable after warming up.

“We’re glad to have him back,” Thibodeau remarked.

The Knicks currently hold the fourth position in the Eastern Conference standings and have won six of their last seven games.

Robinson, now in his sixth season, has been averaging 6.2 points and a career-high 10.3 rebounds in 21 games this season.
