Leeds United have decided to sell their Flop player as discussion is on the way 

 

 

Rasmus Kristensen, currently on loan at Roma from Leeds United, is scheduled to return to Elland Road at the end of his loan spell in the summer. However, a

pundit representing United fans, as reported by Football League World, opposes his return.

 

Both Kristensen and Diego Llorente, defenders from Elland Road, temporarily

departed to join José Mourinho’s team in the Italian capital last summer. While both players have made significant

appearances for Roma in the league, only Llorente is reportedly sought after for a permanent transfer by the Serie A side.

Unlike Llorente, Kristensen’s loan agreement does not include an option for

Roma to purchase him this summer. Roma is expected to exercise the clause in Llorente’s contract that would secure

his permanent transfer, potentially generating €5 million (£4.3 million) for Leeds United, as reported by La Repubblica.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Danish full-back seems unlikely to be considered as an option for the Italian giants in the summer.

Leeds United has faced shortages at full-back this season, leading to teenager Archie Gray adapting to fill the position.

Additionally, Welsh international Connor Roberts was brought into the squad during the January transfer window.

Despite the team’s lack of depth in these areas, Kris Smith, a pundit representing

Leeds fans for FLW, advocates for Kristensen’s departure rather than a return to the Whites.

Smith asserts that Leeds should aim to offload the Danish international if possible, stating, “Kristensen should be

moved on as soon as feasible in my opinion. Ideally, we could find a club willing to pay a reasonable fee, preventing us from incurring a loss on

the £10 million spent on him, a figure that appears increasingly questionable as his performances continue to disappoint. From his Premier League

debut onwards, where he was easily outmuscled by a smaller winger from Wolves, he has consistently failed to

meet the required standard for us, whether it be in possession, on the defensive end, or overall.”

“After our relegation, he moved to Roma, and there was hope that he might flourish under esteemed coaches like

Mourinho and now Danielle Di Rossi. However, he hasn’t managed to make a significant impression there either. The

fact that Roma is eager to offload him once his loan spell ends, despite their own deficiencies in the right-back position, speaks volumes.

“He simply isn’t up to the standard required for Leeds United, even in the Championship. I would advocate for sending him out on loan again, as that

seems the most probable outcome. Alternatively, if there are any takers, I would opt to sell him permanently. He

isn’t deserving of consideration for a place in our squad, particularly given his decision to leave at the first sign of adversity. Furthermore, the fact that an

18-year-old midfielder [Gray] is outperforming him only emphasizes his shortcomings.”
