Breaking News:Leeds put on a Master class performance against Hull City to move back to automatic spot

Leeds put  on a Master class performance against Hull City to move back to automatic spot.

Crysencio Summerville clinched victory for Leeds United by converting a dramatic late penalty, propelling the team back into second place.

The Dutch player was brought down by Regan Slater’s clumsy challenge, leading

him to step up and score in the 88th minute, sparking wild celebrations at Elland Road.

Despite attempts from Leeds substitute Joel Piroe to take the penalty, Summerville seized the opportunity,

confidently blasting the ball home before Dan James added a spectacular third goal in the dying moments.

Daniel Farke’s team extended their unbeaten streak to 15 league games, fueling belief that they can secure an immediate return to the Premier League.

The emotionally charged evening included tributes to honor Leeds fans Christopher Loftus and Kevin Speight, as the 24th anniversary of their tragic

deaths approaches. The pair were tragically murdered in Istanbul on April 5, 2000, the day before Leeds played their UEFA Cup semi-final against Galatasaray.

Given Hull’s Turkish owner, Acun Ilicali, and the frequent display of Turkish flags

by supporters, both clubs issued a joint statement before kick-off, urging respect from both sets of fans.

As the teams entered the field before kick-off, fans united in a minute of

applause, with members of the Loftus and Speight families present, setting a positive tone for Leeds United’s start.

In the ninth minute, Leeds took the lead when Georginio Rutter displayed skillful footwork, finding Summerville with an excellent pass into the left channel.

Summerville advanced and struck a shot that Ryan Allsop could only parry, with

the ball flying towards the far post where right back Sam Byram arrived to bundle it home.

Leeds had an opportunity to double their lead midway through the first half when Summerville delivered a low cross to

Patrick Bamford, who unfortunately skewed his left-footed shot over the bar from close range.

In the 24th minute, referee Josh Smith paused the game as fans rose to applaud in honor of Loftus and Speight. Both men

were commemorated on the big screen at Elland Road as players from both teams joined in applause.

Hull’s fluid passing began to make an impact, and in the 34th minute, they leveled the score. Tyler Morton broke down the left wing and delivered a cross

to the near post, where Fabio Carvalho skillfully finished past Illan Meslier. It was a deserved equalizer for Liam Rosenior’s side.

In the 50th minute, Philogene, ever-present on the field, managed to create

space and attempted a curling shot from 25 yards out, narrowly missing Meslier’s far post.

Leeds appealed for a penalty in the 66th minute when Gray fell inside the box

under a challenge from Jean Michael Seri, but referee Smith remained unmoved.

As opportunities dwindled for Leeds at the opposite end of the pitch, Farke opted to substitute Bamford with the promising youngster Mateo Joseph.

Joseph, who recently scored twice against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup, came close to converting Junior

Firpo’s low cross from the left flank before Summerville’s decisive penalty sealed the victory.

There remained an opportunity for James to shoot into an unguarded net with Allsop having ventured out of his goal, concluding an extraordinary finale.
