Am done ,am Leaving Cowboys RB Snoop Conner has terminated his contract.

For years, we’ve admired Will McClay and his player personnel department at the Dallas Cowboys for their exceptional scouting abilities, contributing to the

team’s reputation as one of the top drafting franchises in the past ten years. While opinions may vary on the team’s drafting prowess, their track record

speaks for itself, showcasing a remarkable résumé over the years. This emphasis on drafting is particularly

significant for the Cowboys, as they prioritize the draft over free agency, relying heavily on their scouting expertise to build their roster.

The Dallas Cowboys have established themselves as adept drafters, particularly excelling in their selections on Day 1. Recently, Pro Football Focus

conducted an analysis of the best and worst drafting teams over the past decade, focusing on their first-round picks.

When the Cowboys refrain from reaching to address a specific need, they

tend to excel in their draft choices. In 2021, despite their desire for a cornerback, both top options were

unavailable, leading them to select Micah Parsons, who has emerged as one of the premier edge rushers in the league. Similarly, CeeDee Lamb proved to be a

stellar pick, while Tyler Smith has displayed promise on the offensive line, despite initial concerns about his raw talent.

While there have been some minor blunders, such as Taco Charlton and the

uncertain start for Mazi Smith, the majority of the Cowboys’ first-round selections over the past decade have

blossomed into All-Pro caliber players. This impeccable track record solidifies their position at the top of the list, with few other teams coming close.

Conversely, the Philadelphia Eagles find themselves in the “WORST” category according to PFF. Although recent first-round picks like Jalen Carter, Nolan

Smith, Jordan Davis, and DeVonta Smith appear promising, the Eagles’ draft history over the past decade tells a different story.

While the Eagles have shown promise in recent years, their overall draft performance suffers from significant

missteps. Passing on Justin Jefferson in favor of Jalen Reagor and trading up for Andre Dillard, who saw limited playing

time during his tenure with the team, are just a couple of examples. These errors underscore the challenges the Eagles have faced in making impactful first-

round selections, making it difficult to overlook their drafting woes, particularly over the past decade.

Luckily for the Eagles, their recent first-round picks have shown improvement, which is beneficial considering their substantial draft capital in the early

rounds. Additionally, the Eagles actively participate in trades and free agency, allowing them to explore alternative roster-building avenues when the draft

falls short. Despite their struggles in the draft, their willingness to engage in other methods of roster construction remains evident.

As we approach the 2024 NFL Draft, anticipation builds for the Cowboys to

once again make a significant impact on Day 1. Given their track record, history suggests they are poised for success.
