He must leave , Sunderland Legend pour his anger and insist Dodds was

Sunderland icon Gary Bennett has expressed disappointment over one of Mike Dodds’ decisions made on Easter Monday.

The Black Cats suffered a humiliating 5-1 defeat against Blackburn Rovers in the

Championship, marking only the third occasion the club has conceded five goals at the Stadium of Light in a competitive match.

Sunderland found themselves trailing by two goals at halftime, prompting many fans to anticipate changes during the

break. However, interim head coach Mike Dodds chose to maintain the status quo, resulting in the Black Cats quickly conceding two more goals.

With Sunderland trailing Blackburn Rovers by four goals at home, Dodds

eventually made substitutions, introducing Chris Rigg, Bradley Dack, and Jack Clarke from the bench.

However, for Sunderland legend and BBC Radio Newcastle pundit Bennett, these changes came too late to make a significant impact.

Bennett criticized Dodds’ decision, saying, “You’re already 4-0 down, and then they decide to make a substitution.

They bring three subs on. What do you expect them to achieve when you’re already trailing by 4 goals?

“And then you bring Jack Clarke on. You’re already trailing by 4 goals, and you bring Jack Clarke on. There’s a risk

of him aggravating his injury. What are you hoping Jack Clarke will accomplish? It’s baffling.”

Sunderland’s next match is against Bristol City at the Stadium of Light in the Championship this Saturday. Dodds and his team are now under pressure to

deliver a solid performance following the debacle on Easter Monday. The team has dropped to 13th place in the league and has suffered 19 losses this season.
