Injury update:Enzo Maresca gives injury update on his team as some key players are missing

Enzo Maresca’s team secured a 3-1 win against Norwich City on Easter Monday, silencing many critics who had questioned their resolve. Despite conceding an early goal, Leicester

showed great determination to stage a comeback and remain in contention for a top-two finish.

With Ipswich Town leading the league by two points, Leicester cannot afford to lose ground and must maintain their momentum as they approach the crucial stage of the season.

Kasey McAteer has been sidelined with a recurring hamstring injury since the defeat against Leeds United in February, and there is currently no indication of when he will return to action.

Ben Nelson and Tom Cannon sustained injuries during the international break, but there is a possibility they could be included in the squad for the upcoming match against Bristol City.

Maresca provided an update on the injured duo, stating, “Ben Nelson picked up an injury while on international duty, and Tom Cannon suffered an injury during the break. Cannon’s injury is expected to be short-term, ruling him out for the Bristol City and Norwich matches, but he could return for the Birmingham game. As for Nelson, his injury may also be short-term.”

Goalkeeper Mads Hermansen is likely to retain his position, while there could be a rotation in the center-back position, with Wout Faes or Conor Coady potentially coming in.

Callum Doyle is expected to continue at left-back following his impressive performance against Norwich, with his

ability to deliver precise cross-field passes adding value to the team’s attacking play.

In midfield, Wilfred Ndidi, Harry Winks, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall are anticipated to form the starting trio. This

combination is considered the strongest midfield lineup for the team, as each player brings different qualities to the table.

In attack, there is a possibility that Patson Daka might be relegated to the bench, paving the way for Kelechi Iheanacho to earn his first start since December.

Despite limited playing time this year, the 27-year-old has made a positive impact in the few appearances he has had.

On the wings, Stephy Mavididi and Abdul Fatawu are expected to retain their places in Maresca’s lineup, as they have been consistent performers throughout the season.

The projected Leicester starting lineup in a 4-3-3 formation includes Hermansen in goal, Pereira, Coady, Vestergaard, and

Doyle in defense, Ndidi, Winks, and Dewsbury-Hall in midfield, and Fatawu, Iheanacho, and Mavididi up front.
