Former Washington Commanders defensive end James Smith-Williams will begin his 2024 NFL season with the Atlanta Falcons. Smith-Williams was selected in the 7th round of the 2020 NFL Draft as the 229th overall pick by 

 

Washington. The former North Carolina State Wolfpack player spent four seasons with the Commanders before signing a one-year contract with the Falcons.

 

During his tenure with the Commanders, Smith-Williams appeared in 55 games, accumulating seven sacks and 31

quarterback hits. However, his game time was impacted by injuries in the last season, limiting him to 13 games where

he recorded 22 tackles, one sack, two tackles for loss, and eight quarterback hits. Throughout his time with Washington, he started 27 games.
