Breaking News : Stuart Dallas have retired from professional Football

The 32-year-old sustained a significant injury during a match against Manchester City in April 2022, marking his final appearance as a player. He suffered a femoral fracture that sidelined him for the remainder of that season and prevented him from playing at all during the subsequent campaign.

Despite his efforts to return to action this season, he has faced ongoing challenges with his recovery, leading him to ultimately decide to retire from professional football. Tributes have poured in for the Northern Ireland international, who remains highly regarded and beloved by fans at Elland Road.

Acquired from Brentford in 2015, he quickly won over the Leeds supporters with his adaptability, determined style, and knack for scoring crucial goals.

He excelled under Marcelo Bielsa’s guidance, playing a pivotal role as Leeds achieved a top-half finish in 2021 following their promotion to the Premier League.

Here are a selection of comments from Leeds fans in response to his retirement announcement:

@LDKRZ expressed: “Heartache. It was anticipated but still heartache. Hopefully, we can find an internal role for him soon.”

@RyanHLUFC commented: “We saw this coming for a while, but I wish he could have had one last game before the season’s end.”

@jacoblufc91 remarked: “Exactly three years since he scored the dramatic winner against Man City, such a poetic coincidence.”

Fans will have the opportunity to express their gratitude to Dallas this weekend during halftime as Leeds take on Blackburn Rovers.
