Breaking News :Unia Emery made a shocking promise to Aston Villa Fans about his return to Emirate stadium

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has emphasized that his team’s primary focus is on the upcoming Conference League quarter-final first leg against Lille, rather than the forthcoming Premier League match against his former club Arsenal.

Despite the anticipation surrounding Villa’s return to European quarter-finals after more than two decades and the

important Premier League clash against Arsenal approaching, Emery’s complete attention is directed towards Lille’s visit to Villa Park.

When asked if the Arsenal match would impact his selection for Thursday’s game, Emery was firm, stating: “Absolutely not.”

“We are discussing tomorrow’s Europa Conference League match and not thinking ahead to any other game. Absolutely not, it wouldn’t be beneficial for us, for me, or anyone. I want us to concentrate solely on tomorrow’s match.”

The upcoming league fixture holds significant importance for both teams. Arsenal currently lead the Premier

League standings but cannot afford to drop points, especially with title rivals Liverpool and Manchester City close

behind. Aston Villa, on the other hand, are trailing behind Tottenham in the race

for Champions League qualification and have played more matches than Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Highlighting the significance of the fixture, the French Football Federation

has rescheduled Lille’s domestic match to ensure they are fully prepared for the second leg against Villa.

Emery acknowledges the challenge posed by a well-prepared Lille side but

remains focused on the experience and competitiveness that such matches provide for his squad.

“We are gaining valuable experiences, which is paramount for us to remain competitive and successful,” he stated.

“We are thrilled about the opportunity ahead of us in the Conference League quarter-final and are fully focused on this moment.

“The quarter-final stage of the Conference League holds great importance, and we are cherishing every step of our journey to this point.

“Lille is concentrating solely on this competition and our quarter-final match, without the distraction of league fixtures in Ligue 1.

They currently hold fourth place in the league and are fully committed. With experienced players and a talented coach in Paulo Fonseca, they pose a strong challenge tactically and competitively.

“I believe we have a highly capable squad, filled with players who give their all in every game across both competitions,” he continued. “We are

putting in the work, especially during this demanding and crucial week where we are focused on one game at a time.

“For me, both competitions hold immense importance. We aim to deliver

a quarter-final victory at home for our supporters after 26 years and progress to the semi-finals.

“We are dedicated to this objective. This next month and a half is crucial, and we need every player fully committed and focused on the task ahead.”
