Sad News:Leeds to sell star players due to their devastating financial report

According to sources speaking to Football Insider, Leeds United are nearing the financial regulations threshold and will

need to offload key players this summer due to a significant £34 million loss incurred during the 2022-23 season. The

Yorkshire club’s full accounts for the period were disclosed to Companies House on April 9th, unveiling a record

turnover of £189 million. Despite earning £74 million from player transfers, the club faced a substantial deficit due to their relegation to the Championship.

The recent losses of £36.7 million and £11.1 million in their previous financial statements underscore Leeds’ financial

challenges. Despite complying with Profit and Sustainability Regulations (PSR) this season, consecutive years of significant

losses necessitate careful financial management to avoid breaching regulations in the upcoming year.

With only allowable losses of £81 million for their 2023-2024 PSR calculations,

Leeds, having had one accounting year in the Championship, must tread cautiously to avoid exceeding the

threshold. To mitigate potential losses, it is reported that Leeds will need to offload key players.

Football Insider has disclosed that several top Premier League clubs are gearing up to make bids for Leeds’ rising

star, Archie Gray. Currently, Daniel Farke’s squad holds the third position in the Championship, trailing behind

promotion contenders Leicester City and Ipswich Town by just one point, with four games remaining.

The club faced a £65.5 million loss upon their previous promotion in 2020, and similar financial figures from their

current Championship campaign could expose them to the risk of a points deduction.
