Good news: Welcome back GM welcomes his Former All Star pitcher who …

The Baltimore Orioles bolstered their pitching rotation this season, assembling an impressive group of arms. However, injuries have hindered their plans, with several key pitchers yet to fully recover.

Mike Elias, the Orioles’ general manager, provided an update on the comeback of a former All-Star pitcher.

John Means has been limited to just six games over the past two seasons due to undergoing Tommy John surgery in

2022, sidelining him until September 2023. However, he appears poised to make his return to Major League Baseball soon.

“I don’t want to commit to a specific date or timeframe. It’s safe to say we’re targeting a springtime activation with

him, hopefully within this month or the next,” Elias stated, as reported by Steve Melewski of MASN.

Means is anticipated to return to action in late April or early May.

He is currently joined on the injured list by Kyle Bradish, another starting pitcher who is undergoing rehabilitation.

Despite the absence of these two players, the Orioles have managed to maintain one of the top rotations in the league.

Baltimore’s pitching staff currently sits at seventh place in the league standings as of Saturday, boasting a combined ERA of 3.48. They also rank among the top ten in strikeouts and hits allowed.

Means’ most recent full season was in 2021, during which he posted an impressive 3.62 ERA. Prior to that, in

2019, he earned a spot on the All-Star team. One of his standout qualities is his ability to limit walks, a trait that has been beneficial to the Orioles. Notably,

Baltimore ranks lowest in the league for walks allowed this season, further highlighting their pitching prowess.

Despite injuries and setbacks, the Orioles have managed to maintain a competitive edge, particularly with the acquisition of

Corbin Burnes. With their pitching staff performing admirably even in the absence of key players, Baltimore has

reason to be optimistic about the remainder of the season as they anticipate the return of their top arms in the coming weeks.
