Archie Gray from Harrogate has been named the EFL Championship Young Player of the Season at the prestigious EFL awards ceremony.

The 18-year-old, who attended St John Fisher’s Catholic High School and is a former Leeds United midfielder, made

and in central midfield. Throughout the season, he has amassed an impressive 46 appearances for the club across various competitions.

In January, Gray extended his commitment to Leeds United by signing a new contract that ties him to the club until 2028.

Gray was honored with the award at the EFL Awards 2024 ceremony, which took

place in London. Reflecting on his achievement, Gray expressed his gratitude.

“I feel privileged to receive this award, especially considering the talented players who have won it in the past. It’s

important for me to remain grounded and continue putting in the hard work, as I’ve come a long way in my journey.

I’ve gained valuable experience and knowledge along the path to this achievement.

“I have to credit my teammates and manager for their support. Since joining the team at 15, they’ve been incredibly

supportive. This season, players like Joe Rodon and Ethan Ampadu have been particularly helpful, guiding me as I

transitioned to playing right-back and offering valuable insights during post-match analyses.”
