Sad News: I can’t fight again,AJ Style retires
|WWE is ushering in a new era, marked by fresh creative direction, crowd-pleasing performances, and the recent success of its flagship event, WrestleMania. Despite these positive changes and a recent shift in leadership, the industry titan in professional wrestling may be losing its appeal
In a recent episode of SmackDown, AJ Styles emerged victorious in a triple threat match, earning him a spot in a contender’s series to determine the challenger for Cody Rhodes and his Undisputed WWE Championship at Backlash. This win places Styles just one match away from headlining another major event for a world title.
However, with this achievement comes the realization that Styles is also nearing the end of his career.
Before WrestleMania, AJ Styles sat down with The Ringer and opened up about the nearing end of his illustrious career.
“I’m done. I’m going to retire. I’m getting to that point where I am worried about
embarrassing myself. My brain says, ‘We can do this.’ My body is like, ‘You’re stupid. We cannot do this. We’re hurting
every day when we roll out of bed.’ At some point, this has to come to an end,” Styles revealed.
With a career spanning close to three decades across various promotions worldwide, Styles has become known for
his dynamic and innovative wrestling style, captivating audiences around the globe. However, after recently returning
from a brief hiatus and grappling with a severe ankle injury, the former two-time WWE Champion acknowledges that his time in the ring is finite.

“I love it. This is what I do and what I know,” Styles expressed. “I’ve spent more
than half my life doing this, but at some point, you have to let go because it’s fun, but I don’t want to disappoint you.”
At 46, Styles maintains a remarkable physical condition, visibly stronger and fitter. While adjustments to his schedule
and character evolution could potentially prolong his career for several more years, Styles is committed to maintaining
the high standard fans have come to expect. Before bidding farewell to the ring, he aims to conclude his career on a high note.
“I’m nearing the finish line. I aim to have that defining story and match before departing from WWE,” Styles shared.
If he secures a victory over LA Knight in their imminent bout, Styles could potentially realize this aspiration as
early as May 4 at Backlash, where he might face off against WWE’s latest undisputed star, Cody Rhodes.
