Sad News:NFL have suspend 5 Lions players for
|DETROIT — The NFL has ended the indefinite suspensions of five players, four of whom are former Detroit Lions, due to violations of the league’s gambling policy last year, as reported by multiple sources.
The league has lifted the bans for wide receiver Quintez Cephus, safety C.J.
Moore, defensive end Rashod Berry, defensive lineman Demetrius Taylor, and defensive end Shaka Toney.
Cephus and Moore were among a group of five players suspended last April,
along with Lions receiver Jameson Williams. Williams received a milder punishment of six games initially, which
was later reduced to four games as he had placed bets on a sport other than the NFL.
Cephus and Moore were both freed as soon as their suspensions were made public. Moore, a veteran member of the
Lions’ special teams, had re-signed as a free agent with the team one month prior.
It wasn’t until late June that Taylor’s suspension was made public. The team
had already let go of the former undrafted free agent one month prior.
The players who have been reinstated are free to sign with new teams right away after their suspensions are lifted
