Sad News:you are so wasteful,Panthers have terminate incredible Star player Luke Garner’s contract

The Penrith Panthers have reportedly surprised many by offering their second-rower and center, Luke Garner, to the Brisbane Broncos.

Garner, whose contract expires at the end of the year, has played 17 games for the Panthers since joining them from the Wests Tigers. Previously, he spent the first 75 games of his NRL career with the Tigers from 2018 to 2022.

Last year, Garner was involved in 12 games for the Panthers, who are now three-time defending premiers. Although he didn’t always secure a spot in the

starting lineup under Ivan Cleary’s coaching, he consistently performed well whenever given the opportunity.

According to News Corp, Penrith recently made the unexpected decision to offer

Garner to the Broncos. However, the Brisbane-based club declined the offer.

Brisbane is known to be in search of a second-rower, with reports suggesting

they have a shortlist of three candidates, including North Queensland Cowboy Jack Gosiewski, who is likely to join them

at the beginning of May after requesting a release from the Cowboys on compassionate grounds.

Brisbane’s need for a second-rower became more urgent after Kurt Capewell left at the end of the 2024 preseason to join the New Zealand Warriors.

Additionally, Brendan Piakura’s recent injury further added to the team’s concerns.

Despite these circumstances, the Broncos opted not to immediately sign Garner, even though they had two spots available in their 30-man roster. Garner’s

versatility, capable of playing either in the second row or center position, adds value to his potential recruitment.

With only seven months left on his contract, Garner faces the task of finding a new team for next year. It appears unlikely that the Panthers will offer him

a new deal, especially after attempting to trade him to the team they defeated in last year’s grand final.

Given Penrith’s well-documented salary cap constraints, the 28-year-old may need to explore other options for his future in the NRL.
