Sad News:NRL have Fine and suspend Three Melbourne storm players From ANZAC Day Matches for …

South Sydney Rabbitohs outside back Taane Milne can avoid facing the judiciary if he opts for an early guilty plea regarding a concerning cannonball tackle on Melbourne Storm five-eighth Cameron Munster.

The incident occurred during the closing moments of the Rabbitohs’ defeat to the

Storm on ANZAC Day, with Milne initially involved in a multi-man tackle on Munster.

Following the tackle, Milne disengaged and directed his shoulder towards

Munster’s knee area, resulting in Munster falling to the ground in visible pain.

While Milne received a sin-binning for the tackle, he was not sent off, sparking

discussions within rugby league circles about the severity of the incident and potential judiciary referral.

However, Milne has been issued a Grade 3 dangerous contact charge by the match

review committee. With no prior offenses in the last 12 months, he faces a suspension of two matches with an early

guilty plea, or three matches if he contests the charge and is unsuccessful at the judiciary.

The decision by the match review committee has garnered attention due to

the nature of the tackle, leaving the Rabbitohs to find a replacement for the Fijian representative for the next two weeks.

Meanwhile, St George Illawarra Dragons’ fullback Tyrell Sloan has faced two charges for dangerous contact.

The first incident occurred when Sloan kicked out at Sam Walker during a tackle, making contact with the Roosters’ halfback’s jaw. The tackle occurred following a break, and while Walker seemed to be holding Sloan down, he was not penalized by referee Adam Gee. Sloan himself also avoided penalty, but he has been charged with a Grade 1 offense. As a first offense, Sloan faces a fine of $1000 with an early guilty plea or $1500 if he contests the charge and is unsuccessful.

Sloan was also cited for an incident involving Luke Keary shortly after

halftime, resulting in another Grade 1 dangerous contact charge. He will be

subject to another fine of $1000 with an early guilty plea, or $1500 if he chooses to contest and loses the charge.

Additionally, the Match Review Committee confirmed two charges from the day’s earlier game, where the Gold

Coast Titans secured their first win of the season against the New Zealand Warriors in Auckland.

Both New Zealand Warriors rising star Jacob Laban and Gold Coast Titans standout forward David Fifita have been issued Grade 1 dangerous contact charges and will be subject to fines.

Laban’s charge stems from an incident involving Beau Fermor in the 33rd

minute, and he faces a fine of $1000 with an early guilty plea or $1500 if he chooses to contest the charge and is

unsuccessful. As it is Laban’s first offense, the fine remains at the lower end of the scale.

On the other hand, Fifita’s charge relates to an incident involving Te Maire Martin

in the 68th minute. Due to a prior offense within his rolling 12-month record, Fifita

faces a higher fine of $1800 with an early guilty plea or $2500 if he decides to challenge the charge and loses.

Both players have until midday (AEST) on Saturday to make their decisions regarding whether to accept early guilty

pleas or proceed to the judiciary. Any potential hearings will be held at Moore Park on Tuesday evening.
