Sad News :Tears in Rabbitohs as two key players are ruled out of Origin due to…

The South Sydney Rabbitohs faced yet another setback as Dean Hawkins and Jye Gray were forced off the field during Thursday night’s match against the Penrith Panthers.

In addition to these injuries, the Rabbitohs confirmed that their captain, Cameron Murray, will be sidelined for up to eight weeks due to a hip flexor injury.

A club statement revealed the extent of Murray’s injury, stating, “Rabbitohs Captain Cameron Murray has sustained a hip flexor injury in Thursday’s game against the Penrith Panthers. Cameron will be sidelined for six-to-eight weeks.”

Murray’s absence not only impacts the Rabbitohs but also affects the NSW Blues, as he is a crucial figure in their forward

pack. With Murray unavailable, the Blues will have to make do without him for the opening game of the 2024 State of

Origin series. It is reported that Murray will not be available until the final game of the series, ruling him out for Game 1 and Game 2.

The injury to Murray further compounds the Rabbitohs’ injury woes, making him the 16th player unavailable for their upcoming match.

The club’s injury list includes players such as Lachlan Ilias, Campbell Graham,

Tyrone Munro, Jacob Gagai, Shaquai Mitchell, Haizyn Mellars, Richie Kennar,

Ben Lovett, Tevita Tatola, Leon Te Hau, and Alex Johnston, among others. Additionally, Taane Milne and Jacob Host are suspended for the next match.
