Sad News:Go you are not a good player , Minnesota Vikings terminate the contract of incredible quarterback J.J McCarthy who ..

The Minnesota Vikings are banking on J.J. McCarthy to be their quarterback solution, aiming to usher in a promising future under his leadership.

As the rookie minicamp approaches, the Vikings have severed one of McCarthy’s

ties to the past. The rookie session, scheduled from May 10 to May 12, will proceed without former Cleveland

Browns wide receiver Daylen Baldwin, who was McCarthy’s teammate during their time at the University of Michigan.

According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2, Baldwin, 24, has been released by the Vikings, as reported on X on May 7.

Baldwin initially began his college football journey at Morgan State before transferring to Jackson State and

eventually Michigan. In 2021, he played alongside McCarthy during his freshman year but went undrafted following the season.

Following his collegiate career, Baldwin joined the Cleveland Browns, spending most of the season on the practice squad.

Baldwin did have some playing time, though. He caught two passes for a total of 25 yards during a Week 15 game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Last season, he initially inked a deal with the Vikings, joining their practice squad in August. However, they released him in December. Nevertheless, the 6-foot-2,

212-pound wide receiver was signed to a one-year, $795,000 reserve/future contract by the Vikings on January 16.

The decision was made to accommodate the incoming prospects participating in rookie minicamp.

Baldwin may have the opportunity to reunite with McCarthy, re-signing after the Vikings assess the potential of these

new players and aim to bolster their roster for mandatory minicamp and subsequent training camp in July.

The Vikings will welcome a plethora of undrafted rookies eager to prove themselves during their inaugural minicamp. McCarthy will undoubtedly

be the center of attention, but cornerback Khyree Jackson could also start making strides toward earning playing time.

Jackson was selected as the No. 108 pick in the draft.

“While the Vikings made no other changes at the position this offseason, their cornerback group was merely

average last season,” noted David Kenyon of Bleacher Report on May 3. “Jackson stands a good chance of seeing immediate playing time.”

The Vikings have bolstered their cornerback group by adding veteran Shaquill Griffin to the mix, joining Byron Murphy and recent draft picks Akayleb Evans, Andrew Booth, and Mekhi Blackmon.

Blackmon, who allowed a completion rate of 61.5% in 2023, led the returning players in this statistic, according to Pro Football Reference.

Griffin’s acquisition hasn’t generated much excitement in evaluations. He recorded a completion rate of 60.5% in coverage during the 2023 season, which

would have been the best among Vikings cornerbacks last year. However, this performance came with a career-low snap share. Therefore, while Griffin’s

signing could potentially benefit the Vikings, it may also come with a significant cost.
