Sad News:After investigation WPBSA have Ban Snooker star Mark King for Matching- Fixing for 2 years who is …

Snooker player Mark King reveals that he endured a 14-month period of uncertainty and turmoil after being implicated in a match-fixing investigation. The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association imposed a suspension on King in March 2023, stemming from a match he played against Joe Perry the month prior.

The WPBSA raised concerns about unusual betting activities following Mark King’s 4-0 loss to Joe Perry at the Welsh

Open in February 2023, leading to King’s suspension. Now, after spending 14 months in limbo, King disclosed that he

recently attended a disciplinary hearing in London, detailing his appreciation for his legal team’s support, who provided their services pro bono.

In a Facebook post, King expressed gratitude to his solicitors, Ben Rees and

Mark Kenkre from Napier Stirling Law, as well as his barrister, David Baker from

One Essex Court, along with others who supported him throughout the process. However, he refrained from discussing the case until a decision is reached.

The WPBSA has yet to respond to King’s update, maintaining silence since announcing his suspension in March 2023. At that time, WPBSA Chairman

Jason Ferguson explained the decision to suspend King due to concerns over irregular betting patterns in the match against Joe Perry.

King, a former Northern Ireland Open champion, has faced setbacks in recent

years, with his world ranking dropping to No. 109. Despite reaching two ranking tournament finals in the past, he awaits

the outcome of the WPBSA’s investigation, uncertain about when a decision will be made public.
