Just in:Dear Leeds United fans , details of Leeds Chairman Paraag Marathon to fans as he promise to..

The leader of the 49 Enterprises ownership group addressed the fanbase after a deeply disappointing end to the season.Leeds United finished third in the Championship with 90 points, trailing behind Leicester City and Ipswich Town. Despite a commanding 4-0 victory over

Norwich City in the semi-final second leg at Elland Road, Daniel Farke’s team had an underwhelming exit at Wembley,

losing 1-0 to Southampton. Leeds struggled to challenge their opponents, who took an early lead with Adam Armstrong’s goal and then defended

effectively for most of the match. It was only when Daniel James, a late substitute, struck the crossbar that Leeds

showed any real threat of equalizing, but the game ended with confirmation of their continued second-tier status for the next season.

Marathe believes that Farke and his players’ regular season performance deserves recognition and promises that

the club will work hard this summer to mount another challenge for Premier League promotion. He wrote: “Dear

Leeds Supporters. Although we fell short of our ultimate goal of earning promotion this season, I want to thank you all for your unwavering support for

the club and squad throughout the campaign. Daniel and the squad’s 90 points is a fantastic achievement and

should not be overlooked. Congratulations to Ipswich Town and Leicester City for their nearly historic

points totals that earned them automatic promotion, and to Southampton for their perseverance in the Play-Offs.”
