Sad News:Penrith panthers Board Meeting have resolve and terminated the Contract of Taylan May due to ..

As Taylan May gets ready to address the club’s board and defend his career next week, the Penrith Panthers have decided to cut off his contract and given him a show-cause notice. The Panthers last

week gave May, who is scheduled to appear in court in March of next year on charges of domestic abuse, a file

containing several years’ worth of violations committed while he was a member of the club.

The accusations made by his partner that led to May’s charges of assault resulting

in actual bodily harm and two counts of stalking or intimidating another person with the intent to cause them to fear

physical or mental harm are unrelated to the transgressions of the club’s code of conduct. May entered a not guilty plea. May will have to appear before the

Panthers board on Tuesday in light of a number of other off-field infractions that occurred during his tenure at Penrith. The NRL has stood May down in

accordance with its no-fault policy. When contacted on Monday night, neither the Panthers nor May’s agent would comment.

Some of the violations are connected to events that happened prior to his signing

a contract extension with the Panthers on March 22 of this year, according to sources with knowledge of the situation who spoke on the condition of

anonymity. He will remain at Penrith until the end of 2026 thanks to a two-year extension worth nearly $1.2 million that the club approved.

According to sources, the use of derogatory language on social media and a recent video of him in the passenger

seat of a car speeding at 96 km/h in a school zone last month are among the infractions listed in the show-cause notice.

Last month, bail was granted to May, who was represented by attorney Abdul Reslan. His next court appearance is scheduled for March 2025. Jackson

Topine is suing the Bulldogs for mistreating him during his training season last year, and Reslan is his attorney in that case as well.

Before being taken into custody 24 hours prior to Penrith’s Magic Round matchup with the New Zealand Warriors, May is

accused of punching Jessica May in the face during a fight on April 8. At the end of the previous season, Tricia Hitchen, a former mayor of Penrith, became a

member of the Penrith Panthers board. In addition, she serves as a director of The Haven Nepean Women’s Shelter, a facility that provides refuge to women

and their kids fleeing abuse. She is one of the Panthers board’s two female members. The club’s board has made the decision to give May a show-cause notice.
