Breaking News:Leeds United have reached an agreement Aston villa for the signing of star player for £20M…
|Former Aston Villa, Rangers, and Tottenham Hotspur player Alan Hutton suggests that Leeds United are considering bringing
Coventry City star Callum O’Hare to Elland Road this summer, following
Coventry’s agreement to sign Jack Rudoni from Huddersfield Town.
Rudoni, who plays in the same position as O’Hare, signed a four-year deal with
Coventry on Thursday, with a reported fee around £5 million.
This move suggests that Rudoni could be seen as a potential replacement for
O’Hare, who has been linked with a transfer to Leeds United.
“We’re excited to welcome Jack to Coventry City. He is a talented player with great technical ability, adept at
driving teams forward and creating opportunities,” said Coventry City
manager Mark Robins. “Jack is a young player who we are sure will be popular
with our supporters. We are looking forward to
him continuing his development with
us.”Rudoni expressed his excitement about the
move: “I am very happy. As soon as I
heard of the interest, I was buzzing. I
spoke to the manager and his staff and got a great vibe and sense of drive from
everyone here, and that’s what I am about. This is a great fit for me and I am so happy to be here.
“I was aware of the interest for a while, but this summer it felt stronger. It was clear as soon as I started talking to the
club that this was the place for me to advance my career. I can’t wait to get started.”
Callum O’Hare played 31 matches in the Championship last season, scoring six
goals and providing three assists. Overall, he has featured in 182 games for
Coventry City, tallying 22 goals and 30 assists. Alan Hutton believes O’Hare would be a strong addition to Leeds
United. As his contract with Coventry ends this month, O’Hare is available on a free transfer, presenting Leeds with a
potential bargain move that aligns with profit and sustainability regulations.
“He fits the bill that Leeds like; he’s an exciting player,” Hutton told Football Insider. “Especially if they’re going to
lose someone like [Crysencio] Summerville or [Georginio] Rutter, who could also be leaving this summer.
“They’ll need to bring in someone to replace these guys. I know Callum
O’Hare well; I played alongside him at Villa. He’s very technically gifted, has an eye for a pass, can score goals, is still at a
good age, and has experience at this level. I think that’s something Leeds are
definitely looking at, and he suits them well.”
O’Hare began his career with Aston Villa, making his senior debut in 2017. He
never secured a regular spot and was loaned to Carlisle United and Coventry
City before signing a permanent deal with Coventry in 2020. Premier League
club West Ham are also reportedly interested in him.
