|Enzo Maresca admits that Leeds schedules is causing him serious nightmare as FA Cup replay is set
Following a 1-1 FA Cup draw with Plymouth Argyle, the promotion-chasing team had to make another trip to the
southwest, which meant that the Championship club had some demanding travel arrangements
Leeds’ manager Daniel Farke is prepared to put in a lot of work in the upcoming long grind.
His team’s FA Cup match against Plymouth on Saturday is a logistical
nightmare after they let a lead slip. They could now have to make the 650-mile return trip to Devon twice in the next 15
days due to a replay and an upcoming Championship date at Home Park. One could argue that’s not too horrible.
However, given the brief period of time, the midweek trip to Swansea, and the
Friday televised match against Bristol City, it’s understandable why Leeds supporters could worry that their hopes
of winning promotion could be dashed. In the middle of it all, they are only returning to Elland Road once, and they
are currently so short on players that they started two goalkeepers on the bench last weekend.
When asked whether the team could afford to send his team to all of those games in the southwest, Farke
responded, “I’m a football manager.” After a really hectic schedule, an amazing week, a lot of wins, and going
undefeated at home for a long time, my final thought is whether or not we can afford to travel further for the replay.
Leeds United is who we are. Thus, even if riding a bicycle is necessary, we do so.
Next, we move on to the following one. It doesn’t bother me. We’re going to travel
in style, and I’m excited for this next game. In order to avoid starvation when we enter the game, we will also find
some food along the route. Without a replay, we could have managed. Still, a draw is preferable to a loss.
In the fifth round, the replay winners will travel to either Chelsea or Aston Villa to face Premier League opponents.
German Farke said again how much he loves the FA Cup and how much he wants to have fun during a run. Their
main objective, though, is to get back to the Premier League; they are only two points outside of the automatic
promotion spots, so it will be interesting to watch how they manage the remaining games.
The West Yorkshire team will need to sharpen their finishing in either case.
Despite losing the injured trio of Dan James, Crysencio Summerville, and Archie Gray on Saturday, they still had
enough opportunities to advance to the next round. Connor Hazard, the Plymouth goalkeeper, had a fantastic
afternoon, though, and was only defeated by a spectacular 30-minute effort from Jaidon Anthony.

Making the most of his fourth start of the season, the Bournemouth winger on loan cut in from the left, dribbling past three
defenders before firing home. He took off his jersey to celebrate and showed off a T-shirt that said, “Rest In Perfect Peace, Mom.” Even though it resulted in a
booking, Anthony’s goal was a lovely way to honor his mother Donna, who passed away recently.
Leeds would have been cheering from there, looking to win six games in a row.
However, since new manager Ian Foster took over at the beginning of the month,
Plymouth, who are currently 15th in the Championship, have adjusted admirably. They only managed two hits on goal.
However, in the 73rd minute, Adam Randell vitally capitalized on one with a deft counter to tie the score.
